The seminar is all about SOX (Serbanes-Oxley) first the speaker Mr. Robbie Charles J. presented a quotation stating “IT is Business and Business is IT” The only states that indeed the top big companies now a day needs or requires IT for their business and in the same time IT cannot live without business. SOX is a law in the United states singed July 30, 2002 in reaction to many world scandals about financial statement. Some of the key principles in the seminar were about the SOX internal control mainly:

• Documenting
• Monitoring
• Testing

Which are very vital in the improvement and enhancement of the said part of the system. Moreover, it was stated in the seminar the Testing should be taken as important as the other internal control were as any one liable in the said part should indeed be able to test.

Another part of the seminar was about the Roles and Responsibilities were as stated in the seminar at the heart of SOX section 404 legislation is the concept of management accountability for the design and effectiveness of external control over financial reports. Moreover it was stated in the seminar that the people that are responsible for SOX are everyone including the Management, Employees and Auditors. Another thing that is also discussed is the deficiencies within IT infrastructure supporting these systems can affect output such as:

• Absence of or inadequate authentication
• Improper access control
• Misconfigured applications
